Application:
Ultramarine Blue due to its very low toxicity has been approved as a colourant for use in food contact rubber, plastics and textiles provided it meets specific purity standard.
There are further considerations such as pigments used in surface coating which may well be eaten accidentally . These include Cosmetics, Pencil Lacquers and Paints used in children’s Toys. Ultramarine is universally permitted in all these applications provided it meets certain specific purity standards.
SBP’s Ultramarine Blue due to its high purity standard can be used in wrapping paper manufacture , wrapper printing inks and as colourant for plastic container in contact with food and drinking water and to materials used in food handling machinery viz Conveyor belting .
The heavy metal content of SBP’s Industrial grade is remarkably low .
