Plastic PigmentsUltramarine Blue is eminently suitable for application in all types of plastics. The high heat resistance and light fastness of Ultramarine Blue along with its insolubility makes it ideal colourant for any of the following types of thermo plastic and thermosetting plastics. Cellulose Actate Butyrate Polyethylene ( High & Low Density) Poly Styrene ABS Co Polymers Poly Propylene Nylon (all Types) Poly Tetra Fluoroehtylene Acetal Resins Poly Methyl Methacrylate Poly Carbonates Poly Vinyl Chloride Polyester Resins Epoxy Resin Casein Phenol Formaldehyde Urea Formaldehyde Melamine Formaldehyde Engineering Plastics Unique Features Of SBP’s Products: Extremely fine Particle Size Ease of Dispersion Excellent Heat Stability- upto 400deg C [In absence of oxidizing atmosphere] Excellent Light Fastness ( 7 – 8 On B.S. Wool Scale) Non Migrating Non Bleeding The colour of Ultramarine Blue is unique and bright clean tints are obtainable either in full tone or in combination with other pigments, specially titanium dioxide. Ultramarine Blue is quite transparent and this property can often be exploited in the crystal clear resins of the Styrene and Acrylic types, where a blue transmitted light can be obtained at levels of 0.10% pigmentation or less. Application of ultramarine blue in master batches for either producing blue tint of varying shade or for enhancing whiteness of whites are very well established and appreciated.
