Soap Pigments

In Soaps and Detergents

As a consequence of the well known advantages of using Ultramarine Blue in the final rinsing of domestic white laundry, the consumers have shown a preference for blue tinted detergent, soap and bleach powders. Sometimes an overall blue tint is required in these products, but occasionally the pigment is “masterbatched’ into a portion of the powder, then rough blended with uncoloured powder to give a blue - speckeled effect.

The high tinting strength of ultramarine is preferred due to their economy in use and the particular shade required. SBP’s Industrial Grades are ideal due to the high tinting strength and fineness. The high alkali stability of the pigment (and also its outstanding resistance to chlorine and peroxide in the case of bleaches) together with excellent dispersion properties in water have led to increasing popularity in this industry.
